Amelia is 2 Today!!

Wow! What a busy week -- and a VERY busy 2 year old in our house. Speaking of which, I have to go chase after her. I'll have to write more later. Happy Birthday, Goose!

Toys are packed

So we've begun the packing process. A couple of stories to go along with it:

A week or so ago, Jack was asked to help pick up toys. He didn't want to, so Billy threatened to throw them away. Jack said, "Okay. That's fine." So Billy started putting his toys in garbage sacks and Jack even helped. Billy even found toys in the kitchen garbage that he had to dig out! Jack said, "I can get new ones." Yeah, right! We didn't throw any toys away, but they've all been packed, and he has just a few left around the house.

Yesterday while he was playing in the basement, he brought two of Ellie's princess dolls to me and asked that I dress them for him. I guess since all his boy toys are packed, he'll be playing with Barbies, dolls, and other girly toys until we move. He doesn't ask for his toys, but he does ask when we'll be moving into the new house.

And then in Amelia's world, toys and play are getting a little more interesting. I love how Jack has her dressed up here. And notice is constant reminder that she is Robin -- not Batman or Spiderman. She's the sidekick, of course ... while he's in charge.

As a big surprise, I took Billy skydiving for his 35th birthday coming up! More to post later ... but here are some photos for now.

New House

We are excited to announce the purchase of a new home! We are scheduled to close on Thursday, May 28th! Hopefully all the paperwork goes smoothly, and we will be moving in the next day. Lots of things to be excited about in the new house -- but mostly, just more space! It's 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. A huge finished basement and storage area. The kitchen and open living room was the big sell for us. We just loved the open space! We will for sure "live" in that space.

The backyard opens up into green space that is the high school practice fields. Beyond that the new high school will be built in next year. We aren't sure how busy our road will get as that goes up, but as you can see the house is built far from the road, so hopefully no real fear of the kids getting smashed.

We are super excited! And can't wait for the Grill n Chill at the end of the summer for everyone to come see!
